Special Projects Fall 2021
Digital Comp Lit Pedagogy Groups
Style Guide Team 01
- Create materials that help to “standardize” entries; this might go beyond a usual style guide (which details conventions of spelling, mechanics, etc.) and take a more user-friendly form, etc.
Welcome Guide Team 02
- create a 'welcome' and process document that explains how to create an entry, what an entry “ought” to include, how and when to “improve” an entry etc.; it could also include some technical details (like when to make a link) whether an entry should link to external sources or local files, etc.
Meta Data team 03
- one of the values this project could bring is making the materials that have been digitized (13 issues, 300+/- poems from dozens of languages) more accessible and searchable. To do this, careful and thoughtful development of a taxonomy of tags (national, language, genre, etc. ) might be beneficial; then these could be applied to items. With a system in place, it would be somewhat easier to create a new entry page, add minimal content and appropriate tags. This could probably conducted via small groups doing different parts.
New Entries Team 04
- Create wiki-page entries on any of the inactive/unfinished areas in Vol. 1 or Vol. 2. within reason. Working on Preliminaries section in Vol. 1.
Placeholder Page team 05
- creating an entry wiki-page with its its title, a link, (PDF extract)and space for future “overview, context, commentary, and bibliography” information. Perhaps also minimal meta-data, such as the country or language of origin?
