This page needs updating
- When beginning a new paragraph within the same entry, do not indent and instead, create a space between paragraphs.
- Standard MLA 9th edition format with bibliography/works cited at the end of each page.
- When there is no original author, but a translator is credited, replace author credit with “Translated by [name of translator].”
- Follow proper spelling formats for any websites (ex. MySpace versus Myspace)
- Follow Americanized spelling of words (ex. Color v. colour, theater v. theatre)
- For each entry, follow the order of headings: “Overview,” “Context,” “Commentary,“ and then “Bibliography.”
- Do not add any punctuation for the main headings (ex. “Overview:”)
- No images should be included in the bibliography. If one chooses to reference an image, it should be included underneath the heading in which it was first introduced.
- For images, place source in bibliography/work cited.
- When embedding an image, keep the picture right-justified and the text left-justified.
- For headings, the first letter is capitalized, and the entire word is in bold.
- For subheadings, the same rules apply as normal headings, but the font is 3 or 4 sizes smaller.
- When addressing a list or ranking, use numbers, as opposed to bullet points.
- All spaces within tags will be denoted by a hyphen ”-“.
- Page names should never include a colon ”:“ or slash ”/“.
(Work in progress. Ordering of rules will possibly be adjusted.)
